As an Artisan Producer, good food is my life and my passion. I love playing with recipes both old and new, discovering new tastes and techniques. I find the best and freshest ingredients come from your own garden so I grow as much as is practical. There is always something new to learn, so lets share.

Apple Pie Cake

This is the cake we take when visiting as  everyone seems to love it. Its so cinnamony, appley and yummy.  This is another one of the cakes Mom used to sell at the market. It takes very little time to make and it uses up those eating apples sitting at the bottom of the fruit [...]

Meat Pie and Pasties

Yum yum yum !. I love Meat Pie.
Not a very elegant name and somewhat misleading as the pie consists mostly of various vegetables. Mom makes it in the winter and I’ve started too as its a perfect winter meal. The  recipe we use is my Grandmas. This is a traditional recipe among the Finns in Northern [...]

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Today my house smells fantastic as it smells of baking Pecan Pies. I always make them at this time of year for Dads birthday as he adores them and they are hard to find here. I always make one for Dad and one for us as we love them too.
So I’m looking at the recipe [...]

Lemon Scones

I spent the day making  both raspberry  and strawberry preserve for saturdays market. The smell of strawberry preserve filling the house  made me reach for a bowl to whip up a batch of scones to carry that gorgeous preserve.

Griddle bread

Baked Cheesecake

Ive always wanted a good baked cheesecake recipe but a lot of the recipes seemed a bit complicated.  I wanted baked as I’m not that fond of the gelatin based wobbly cold cheesecakes. They look so tasty but just dont live up to their looks. My friend Marina gave me this recipe last week and [...]

Zucchini Bread

Much and all as I love courgettes there is a limit to how much I can actually eat . We are picking  over 20 a week and there are still the odd ones lurking under the leaves which you only find when they’ve grown to the size of a small child. I’m eating fried courgette [...]

Banana and Chocolate Cakes

This is another one of Mom’s secret recipes for the market.
These cakes are great . They are not too plain and not too rich. They hold for a long time, are easy to make and  both kids and adults  love them. Its a great way to use up overripe bananas.

This recipe makes 3 cakes or [...]
